PROFESSIONAL PROFILE CLINIC

Beyond Academia team is happy to announce its first Professional Profile Clinic, an interactive event that will improve your skills and better prepare you to face your future job-hunt outside academia.

In this event, you will have the opportunity to show your resume, LinkedIn profile and present your elevator pitch to professionals. They will give you feedback and mentoring to improve them. Professional headshots and business cards will also be provided.

This is a unique, participant-centered event. We ask that attendees prepare in advance to get best benefits from our event.

Food and beverages will be served.

DATE AND TIME: Tuesday January 26th, 4:45 – 6:30 pm
LOCATION: 309 Sproul Hall
APPLICATION DEADLINE: January 14th at 5:00 pm

There is limited availability for this event. Tickets will be given on a first-come first-served basis upon review of your application for a $10 fee. In order to be eligible, you must provide a resume, LinkedIn profile link, and elevator pitch within your application.

Graduate students and postdocs from any field (Life Sciences, Engineering and Humanities) interested in searching for a job outside academia are welcome to attend.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR RESUME AND ELEVATOR PITCH
  • Resumes must not exceed 1 page
  • A link to your complete LinkedIn profile should also be provided.
  • Pitches should be short (around 30 seconds). These should briefly summarize who you are, what you currently do, and what you would like to do in the future. Keep your pitch concise and interesting.
